E-cigarette association leaders call the state to regulate vape industry ASAP
Chairman and executive vice chairman of electronic cigarette industry committee called on the state to issue electronic cigarette standards as soon as possible
Not long ago, CCTV financial channel interviewed the chairman and executive vice chairman of electronic cigarette industry committee of China Electronic Chamber of Commerce. On the afternoon of October 17, an interview video was broadcast to make an in-depth report on the current situation of China’s e-cigarettes.
In the interview, President ou Junbiao and executive vice president Yao Jide both called on the state to introduce electronic cigarette standards as soon as possible.
In recent two years, e-cigarettes have developed rapidly and become popular all over the world. As the largest production base of e-cigarettes in the world, China has more than 2 million employees and a total annual sales of 33.75 billion yuan, of which 90% of the products are for export, with a total export of 28.69 billion yuan. However, the market of such scale does not include e-liquid.
In an interview with CCTV financial channel, ou Junbiao, chairman of electronic cigarette industry committee of China Electronic Chamber of Commerce and chairman of Sigelei, analyzed the market scale of electronic cigarette in China, and said, “the export data only represents electronic cigarette devices, and does not include eliquid, which is ten or twenty times that of devices, tens of billions or thousands of billions of e-liquid. If all these are added together, we think it should be a market of several hundred billion yuan, and it will soon develop to a trillion level market. ”
The market scale of e-cigarettes is so large, but China, as the first country of e-cigarettes production, has no relevant industry standards and restrictions. In this regard, President Ou stressed, “I have made e-cigarettes for more than 10 years, and I hope that the national e-cigarettes standard will be issued as soon as possible, and the e-cigarettes will be strictly regulated.”
The growth of any industry must be constrained by corresponding industry standards and rules, especially when a trillion market comes, it is more necessary for national standards to be issued and regulated.
Yao Jide, executive vice chairman of the electronic cigarette industry committee of China Electronic Chamber of Commerce and chairman of Hengxin technology group, also accepted the interview, and said that the electronic cigarette industry committee had already issued the industry group standards on e-cigarette and e-liquid as early as the establishment of 2017. At the same time, we call on the state to issue e-cigarette standards as soon as possible, so that the e-cigarette industry has laws to abide by and standards to abide by, so that the industry can develop healthily and orderly.
China is the world’s largest producer and exporter of e-cigarette products. According to statistics, the number of employees in the e-cigarette industry is more than 2 million, with a total sales volume of 33.75 billion yuan and a total export volume of 28.69 billion yuan in 2018. It has made due contributions in terms of foreign exchange earning through export, employment and domestic demand.
