Geekvape officially releases VPU, a new atomization technology solution
Recently, Geekvape officially released a new atomization technology solution VPU in Paris, France. Just as the current update iteration of CPUs in the technology field emphasizes improving graphic performance and AI computing power, VPU is not limited to a single breakthrough, but rather a comprehensive solution that focuses on the key pain points of taste experience, safety, and service life in the atomization field that need to be upgraded.
Geekvape officials provided detailed information on VPU and after a review, we found that the appearance of VPU largely reflects the innovation in research and development thinking that is happening in the industry, and we can break it down one by one.
Redefining the heating element to enhance the taste experience
As we all know, as the core component of electronic atomization, the design and manufacturing level of the heating element will directly affect the overall atomization quality. Geekvape officials explained that they have a leading advantage in the preparation of the heating element and possess professional technical capabilities in fields such as simulation testing, material micro-design, and device structure design.
Regarding the etched heating piece part of VPU, Geekvape used finite element analysis (FEA), combined with advanced testing methods such as infrared imaging, aerosol particle size analysis, and total particle mass to design it to ensure that the aerosol release meets expectations.
Geekvape data shows that compared to other products on the market, products equipped with VPU solutions can increase the amount of aerosol released by 23.7% for each puff under the same suction conditions. Moreover, under continuous use, it can ensure stable release and no reduction in taste.
In addition to the heating piece, the cotton storage is another key factor that determines the endurance and smoke volume. Geekvape revealed that due to the different debugging points of each manufacturer, there are various standards of cotton storage on the market. This leads to product problems such as oil leakage due to uneven penetration, resulting in high defect rates and inevitable after-sales problems, which will bring additional cost.
Therefore, VPU has established a set of standards for cotton storage, including compression elasticity rate, porosity rate, weight unevenness rate, weight tolerance, oil absorption, and locking capacity, to ensure the consistency of quality and performance of each batch of products. According to Geekvape, the pass rate has been increased from 85% to 99.9%, and the development cycle speed has been increased by 35%.
In addition, VPU also iterates on the oil guiding and storage capacity of the atomization core from the perspective of the atomization core substrate. On the one hand, Geekvape fully considers the heating speed and concentration and material corrosion resistance in the selection and design of heating materials and patterns. On the other hand, it introduces a hydrophobic material with adjustable nanoscale morphology in the substrate to improve the taste and prevent the core from burning out.
Specifically, in the ceramic core research, Geekvape achieved precise control of pore size in the range of 0.1 to 80 microns through advanced raw material selection and forming processes. It achieved matching the most suitable pore size and uniform pore structure according to different application scenarios. Through simulation design and repeated experiments on the simulation experiment platform, it ultimately achieved the expression of taste and high safety.
