Restructuring of FDA may hinder the regulation of electronic cigarettes
Scott Gottlieb, director of the Food and Drug Administration, abruptly resigned yesterday. And the public health experts worry it may stall or even stop the progress in e-cigarette regulation.
According to Axios, Gottlieb proposed to the White House a restriction on the flavoring of electronic cigarettes, and the resignation news came out in just a few days later. His resignation like the tightening regulation, make people worried and pay close attention to the future of vape control. “I don’t think anybody knows exactly what this means,” Desmond Jensen, a lawyer at the Public Health Law Center at Mitchell Hamlin Law School, said in an e-mail to The Verge. “That’s not good news.”
